Transport Manager - Sunbury-on-Thames | £40,000-£45,000 + Car

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Reporting daily spend and service performance to the General Manager, using contract performance reports to guide decisions.
  • Managing operations to meet customer expectations and exceed KPIs, specifically within a courier or same-day delivery environment.
  • Handling customer queries via email and phone, and resolving issues swiftly while communicating with the General Manager.
  • Ensuring drivers meet company standards-uniform, budget adherence, and professional conduct.
  • Overseeing driver rotas, ensuring coverage for holidays while keeping salary costs under control.
  • Maximising contract performance, ensuring smooth, efficient deliveries.
  • Monitoring driver behaviour using advanced systems, addressing any speeding or other driving issues promptly.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure all driver and vehicle information is shared for seamless booking and allocation.

  • Solid experience in operations management within a same-day delivery or courier business.
  • A decisive, solutions-oriented leader comfortable in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proven ability to inspire teams and lead through periods of change.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with logistics software systems.
