Position Overview: As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that the project progresses smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Manager in coordinating and supervising site activities, including the work of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor construction progress, ensuring that schedules and deadlines are met.
- Help ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Support the Site Manager in managing site resources, including materials, equipment, and labour.
- Assist in resolving any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety documentation.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment on-site.
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably in residential housing.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and best practices.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field are preferred.
- CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS certification are desirable.
- A proactive and can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
