Position Overview: As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that the project progresses smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their career in site management, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Manager in coordinating and supervising site activities, including the work of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor construction progress, ensuring that schedules and deadlines are met.
  • Help ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Support the Site Manager in managing site resources, including materials, equipment, and labour.
  • Assist in resolving any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety documentation.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment on-site.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably in residential housing.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and best practices.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field are preferred.
  • CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS certification are desirable.
  • A proactive and can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
