A growing Financial Services firm are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their team in Sunderland - they're fully up-and-running on Azure, making this an excellent role for someone to develop their skills with cutting-edge technologies.

This role requires you to be in their Sunderland office 4 years per week to collaborate with your team and wider business stakeholders, with the option to work from home 1 day per week.

In this role, you will take ownership of the ongoing development and maintenance of their Azure Data Warehouse, and lead on the ongoing migration of newly acquired data sources. This will involve designing effective ETL processes, and implementing data integration solutions using tools including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Synapse Analytics.

This role would be well-suited to a Data Engineer or BI Developer with core competencies in Data Warehousing, and ideally some hands-on experience or a keen and demonstrable interest in Azure technologies.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in the role of Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Developer, Data Warehouse Developer, or similar
  • Excellent SQL scripting skills
  • Experience with data modelling, data warehousing, building data pipelines, and designing data integration techniques
  • Ideally experience and / or certifications with some of: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Excellent communication and requirements gathering skills
