About the Role:
As a Secondary ECT, you will deliver engaging lessons in your subject area, helping students achieve their full potential. You will receive support from experienced teachers and mentors throughout your induction year.
Key Responsibilities of a Secondary ECT (Early Career Teacher):
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons following the national curriculum.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning needs, ensuring inclusivity.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Manage behaviour effectively to maintain a safe learning space.
- Take part in professional development, mentoring, and training sessions.
Requirements to be a Secondary ECT (Early Career Teacher):
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in a secondary subject.
- Experience as an ECT in a secondary school, with adaptable teaching strategies.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching.
- Ability to inspire and engage students through interactive lessons.
- Good classroom management and organisational skills.
- A proactive and reflective approach to teaching.
- An updated CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps).
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
