Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based here in the North-East and are looking for an experienced, Time-served Electrical Biased Maintenance Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a 4 day week, working a shift pattern of days (Monday to Thursday), followed by a week of Night Shift (Monday to Wednesday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on machinery and equipment, with a focus on Siemens PLCs.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and apprentices.

Qualifications:

  • Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on PLCs.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • City and Guilds electrical testing and inspection 2391 – Desirable
  • 18th Edition or above in Electrical regulation – Desirable
