Expleo is recruiting Facility Engineers to join our team on-site with a major automotive supplier. In this role, you will ideally have broad-based experience in manufacturing and represent the Engineering Department in all aspects of designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing facility solutions. This position is based at our client's site in Sunderland and can be offered on either a contract or permanent basis.
Responsibilities for the Facility Engineer role include:
- Supporting integration, commissioning, and acceptance testing activities.
- Project managing the delivery of control system projects through appointed system integrators.
- Supporting the installation, commissioning, in-service troubleshooting, and modification of systems.
- Liaising with suppliers to source the most effective hardware or software solutions in line with the businesss needs.
- Supporting project-specific safety documentation to relevant standard requirements, including IEC61508, IEC61511, and EN ISO 13849.
Skills and experience required for the Facility Engineer role:
- Degree/HND/HNC and/or 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical/Control Engineering.
- Professional experience in PLC programming
- Planning, schedule control, and project management.
- Strong understanding of the design principles related to electrical systems and software engineering.
- Knowledge of mass-manufacturing automatic systems, including experience with motion, vision, robotic, and sensing technologies, and the associated data acquisition of those systems.
