About the Role / Role Overview:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) with GSL Education, you will play an instrumental role in supporting classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education. You will work closely with students, ensuring that they receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially. This role is ideal for individuals with a nurturing disposition and a strong passion for early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities of Primary Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Assist the class teacher in the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities
- Provide targeted support to students with individual learning needs, ensuring their progress is monitored and celebrated
- Work closely with small groups of children to reinforce learning and promote understanding
- Manage classroom resources and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage and support students’ emotional, social, and academic development
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of learning materials and resources
- Observe students’ behaviour and academic progress, offering constructive feedback
- Ensure the classroom is a safe, welcoming, and stimulating space for all students.
Requirements for the role of Primary Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Experience working in a primary school setting as a Teaching Assistant, or in a similar educational capacity.
- A strong passion for working with children and a desire to make a difference in their educational journey.
- Knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and an eagerness to adapt to the needs of students.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
