Vacancy - SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are working in partnership with an SEMH Special School based in Sunderland, who are looking to appoint an SEMH Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time vacancy, seeking an outstanding candidate to join the school on their journey of growth. The successful candidate can expect to work in a challenging but rewarding environment. The job
- To provide support and guidance to the pupil by removing barriers to learning.
- To support and facilitate change and transition along the journey to excellence.
- To be a consistent support to avoid any further disruption.
- To be an active participant in supporting the timetable in all it's different context.
- Complete assessments and records of students progress and achievement when needed.
- Work 1.2.1 and group settings to support pupils with complex needs.
- Able to engage students in their lessons and support with the work.
- Experience of behaviours that challenge and good deesclation techniques.
- A calm and resilient individual with experience of supporting students in KS3 and KS4
The successful candidate will
- Hold a Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification.
- Have experience in an SEMH/SEND setting.
- Hold relevant experience / qualifications suited to supporting learners with additional needs.
- Have experience supporting learners with SEMH, behaviours that challenge & SEND needs.
- Be resilient, dedicated and reliable.
- Team teach training would be preferable.
