The Job Youll Do;
- Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements. This may involve conducting time and motion studies on new and existing processes
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
- Seek quotes for prices of component parts, services or machines which achieve the objectives listed above.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Responsible for producing factory lay-out and floorplan reflecting the desired process flow paths, using AutoCAD or similar
- Responsible for maintaining work centres, cost centres and machine capacity available times on ERP
- Analyse factory output and operator efficiencies to improve output
- Maintain company standard times for future costing and current efficiency output
- Identify factory bottlenecks to increase throughput
- Analyse idle times and advise on improvements [Line balancing]
- Where appropriate, provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
- With the Production Management Team, develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
- Trouble shoot production concerns and facilitate cross functional teams to lead and implement improvements required by determining root cause, developing solutions and finally leading implementation.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Create, develop and release Standardised Work Instructions
About You;
- Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing/production/industrial engineering role.
- CAD and experience of Standardised Working is essential.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles ( desirable)
