Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Sunderland

Salary: 38,000 - 45,000

Working Hours:

07.15 am to 16:00 pm (Monday to Thursday) and 07.30 am to 12:00 on Friday.

Or

08:00 am to 16:45 pm m to t and 8 am to 12.30 pm Friday

Job Description:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities will include the below;

  • Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Seek quotes for prices of component parts, services or machines.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Responsible for producing factory lay-out and floorplan using AutoCAD or similar.
  • Responsible for maintaining work centres, cost centres and machine capacity available times on ERP.
  • Analyse factory output and operator efficiencies to improve output.
  • Maintain company standard times for future costing and current efficiency output.
  • Identify factory bottlenecks to increase throughput.
  • Create, develop and release Standardised Work Instructions.
  • Participate in PFMEA, control plan and APQP activities.

Skills & Experience:

To excel as a Manufacturing Engineer, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial engineering role.
  • Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD or similar).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and standardized working methods.
  • A minimum of an HND qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline is highly desirable.
