Job Description:
Hunter AHP is currently seeking an experienced Locum ACT Pharmacy Technician to join a reputable NHS hospital in Sunderland. This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician to support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services, working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective medication management for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) for prescription orders and medicines dispensed.
- Ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medication in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support medication management across the hospital.
- Conduct medicines reconciliation and assist in medication reviews on patient admissions and discharges.
- Provide technical support to the pharmacy team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Manage the stock control of medications and ensure appropriate medication storage and handling.
Essential Requirements:
- ACT qualification and previous experience as an Accuracy Checking Technician.
- GPhC registration as a pharmacy technician.
- Previous hospital or NHS experience is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and team-working skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
Hourly Rates:
The position offers competitive hourly rates between £15 to £20 per hour, depending on experience. The role is flexible, with the option to work 3, 4, or 5 days per week, offering a great work-life balance.
