Project Manager - Workday Cutover

My leading housing client is looking to find an experienced IT Project Manager to work on a Workday cutover project.

YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OF MANAGING WORKDAY PROJECTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE!

Specifically focused on the successful cutover (as project manager lead) for HR, Finance, Procurement and Payroll modules. Including Business and IT planning, change and stakeholder management. Bringing a structured, well governed and organised approach to ensure on time delivery to agreed targets and objectives. Ensuring risks are proactively identified, escalated and resolved as part of project governance.

Essential Skills required

  • Experience in managing a range of complex projects - Business and IT with multiple workstreams is essential.
  • Project management experience of a Workday and or ERP cutover would be highly desirable Experience in working with third party delivery partners and external vendors to deliver on time activities to tight deadlines
  • Experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven experience in successful delivery of projects on time and achieving project deliverables (time,cost and quality)
  • Proven experience of delivering successful change management as part of project delivery
  • Demonstrable experience of identifying and managing interdependencies between projects
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining a positive team working environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of project management approaches (Business and IT) including cutover planning, stakeholder management, risk management and governance and communications
    The ability to facilitate and influence key stakeholders internal and external to the business
  • The ability to lead and bring together cross-functional teams to achieve a common goal without a direct reporting relationship
  • The ability to identify and escalate risk-driving discussions with risk owners and within the business as needed.
  • The ability to challenge others and have difficult conversations in a constructive and engaging manner
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a proven ability to influence stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ability to gain buy in to changes and improvements * Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously
  • IT skills / Windows 365 / Microsoft project

Qualifications Required

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent)
  • A recognised project management or change management qualification or training (or equivalent experience)

Key duties

Responsible for the delivery (as cutover project manager lead) of a well managed and governed Workday cutover as part of the Group's Workday programme including:

  • Clear scoping and planning of multiple workstreams (functional, integrations, communications, change management etc)
  • Interdependency identification, management and sequencing
  • Planning and working with Workday, the delivery partner and other third parties / vendors as needed (e.g. in relation to integrations)
  • Detailed planning and active oversight / coordination of the go-live activities (pre-go-live, go live and post go-live follow up items) across multiple function
  • Governance processes including RAID log management and escalations
  • Motivation of cross functional teams ensuring close collaboration
  • Risk management and escalation processes
  • Tracking against agreed project KPIs
  • Resource requirements
  • Documentation of discussions & decision making ensuring there is a clear audit trail
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to project personnel and define the scope of their authority
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure that project / cutover progress is on schedule and within budget
  • Review the status reports prepared by project personnel, and modify schedules or plans as required
  • Provides advice, guidance and feedback in relation to project acivity and support to the Project Lead/Sponsor as needed
  • Produce project documentation to a high written standard, e.g. PIDs, RAID logs, presentation, etc.
  • Use standard tools such as MS Project to a highly competent level to support project outcomes.
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management.
