Our public sector client based in Sunderland has an exciting opportunity for a Refuse Collector (HGV Driver) to join their team as soon as possible!

The role will be temporary and is estimated to last until the end of March 2025 initially, but this could be extended depending on the needs of the business.

The hours of work are 07:30-17:15 working Tuesday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

The pay rate for the role is £13.69 per hour, with increments for working bank holidays.

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, and you must have a Class C Driving Licence, current CPC Card and a current Digital Tachograph Card in order to be considered for the role.

Duties of the role will include:-

Driving HGV vehicles safely and responsibly
Drive to scheduled collection points, ensuring timely and efficient service
Collecting refuse and recycling from residential, commercial and industrial areas
Ensure all waste is securely loaded into the vehicle to prevent spillage
Ensure that no waste is left behind at collection points and that the area is cleaned up after collections
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the refuse collection process is carried out safely
