GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll support students with SEN, helping them to thrive in the classroom. You’ll assist teachers, offer one-on-one support, and help students develop key academic and life skills.

Key Responsibilities for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students with personalised learning plans.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support.
  • Track and monitor student progress.
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage students to stay engaged and motivated.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.

A candidate for the SEN Teaching Assistant role should have:

  • A degree (any subject).
  • Experience supporting students, preferably in an SEN setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a real commitment to supporting students.
