Randstad are currently working with a leading education provider in the North East who provide exceptional educational experiences to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We seek a compassionate Support Worker to provide individualised support to students with learning disabilities and complex communication needs in an education setting. You will collaborate with teachers and staff to help students overcome challenges and achieve their educational goals while also supporting with the development of independent life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support.
  • Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support social skills, independence, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with professionals to ensure holistic student development.
  • Facilitate a safe, positive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required.
  • Monitor and document student progress.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in education or care.
  • Understanding of SEND best practices.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Experience supporting people who are non-verbal communicators.
  • Imparting knowledge and your own hobbies and interests to engage young people and support a nurturing environment.
