StaffPower Group are currently recruiting for a Street Ranger to work for a local charity in Sunderland.

You will be accountable for delivery of a range of operational tasks to lead Community Improvement Districts safety and environmental priorities to help establish as a place to live, work, trade and thrive. To develop the CID priorities, build volunteer capacity; enabling residents, traders and stakeholders to identify local aspirations and support the community to realise these. To ensure Back on the Map achieves our strategic objectives; Local Voice, Stronger Community, and Better Place objectives.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for keeping Villette Road and the wider Community Improvement District area safe and clean. You will work with the Environmental team to deliver an enhanced cleansing service locally and assist in maintaining local assets to a high standard.

Main Duties

Environment and safety;

To provide an enhanced cleansing service within the CID area and to offer a rapid response service when required to ensure the street is clean, tidy and safe.

Providing cleansing and litter picking, removal of graffiti, maintaining of planters and street greenery, removal of chewing gum and responsive gritting in winter months toensure safety and hygiene within the CID area.

Using information technology to report and record customer requests/enquiries, health and safety issues, report and record evidence of problems affecting the quality of the CID area e.g. litter, graffiti, sharps, dog fouling, fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour.

Liaise with traders regarding customers inappropriately parking cars causing obstruction on the street

To assist in the delivery of events and activities and ensure they run smoothly.

Represent the CID positively with stakeholders, traders and the general public establishing positive relationships to enhance and maintain the reputation of both the CID and BotM.

Act as an eye on the street and proactively raise awareness of enforcement action being taken by SCC to tackle fly-tipping and other environmental offences.

Report and record environmental and anti-social behaviour issues to assist with achieving enforcement action.

Community Development;

Support CID Project Team to identify and establish new activities and services

Signpost local traders to relevant partner agency support services where appropriate

Maintain good relationships with traders, stakeholders and the general public

Meet and greet in a courteous and professional manner

Attend and report at CID meetings with traders and stakeholders

Building & Facilities;

Understand opening/closing procedures across all community buildings for efficient running of buildings

Ensure opening/closing procedures are followed in all community buildings

Ensure all services and facilities are used according to health and safety standards and policies

Maintain accurate records on bookings to ensure community buildings run smoothly

Follow Key procedure for signing in/out key
