Shorterm Group have designed a paid upskilling programme that takes experienced light vehicle/car mechanics and upskills them to be highly competent PSV/Bus technicians.
* This is a 1-year paid "work and learn" programme, IMI accreditation training provided on the job in the depot (no classroom work).
* 1 - 2 hours of online self-study each week, materials and logins provided.
* Permanent role direct with the client upon completion.
PSV/Bus Engineer
* Location: North Shields, Consett and Sunderland
* Shift: Working and 5 days in 7. Must be flexible with an Early/Late day shift pattern.
* Salary: Starting between 31k p.a. and 33k p.a., plus you get paid an enhanced rate for overtime hours.
* Duration: 12 months in the clients' depot - after this there is full-time employment direct with the client and a pay increase, provided all parties are happy (Master techs earn in the region of 50k).
* IMI accreditation upon completion of the 1-year programme.
* Ongoing training and growth opportunities with the client.
Entry Requirements:
* Will have completed an apprenticeship in light vehicle mechanics and repair, BTEC, City & Guilds qualification or a level 3 equivalent relevant qualification. In exceptional cases we will consider candidates who possess a level 2 qualification or equivalent but who have strong relevant technical expertise.
* Hold a full UK drivers' licence.
* Own a laptop/PC and have domestic internet connectivity.
* Have the right to live and work in the UK.
* Live within a reasonable commute of a designated garage.
* Own a toolbox and tools as befits a practicing car mechanic or equivalent.
