Our client is a national player within the Water Treatment industry, with a strong reputation and busy client portfolio. They are seeking a Water Treatment Service Chemist within the North East area of England, who has robust technical knowledge and strong hands-on experience. Applicants must have used a test kit to carry out on-site analysis and will need a strong aptitude for using formulae to calculate results. For the successful applicant, they are paying well on a basic salary and offering attractive benefits.

Ideally, candidates will be based around: Sunderland, Seaham, Hetton-le-Hole, Murton, Durham, Crook, Chester-le-Street, Washington, Stanley, Consett, Spennymoor, Hartlepool, Newton Aycliffe, Middlesborough, Redcar, Darlington, Gateshead, Blaydon, Hebburn, South Shields, Prudhoe, Heddon-on-the-Wall, Ponteland, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Whiteley Bay, Cramlington, Blyth.

Experience / Qualifications:
- Must have experience working as a Water Treament Service Chemist for a well-established organisation
- Will have excellent knowledge of process water systems, including: Steam Boilers, Cooling Towers and Closed Systems
- It would be beneficial to have industry-related training / qualifications, including: City & Guilds (WMSoc) Legionella Risk Assessing, NVQ in Plumbing
- Well-versed in ACOP L8 and HSG 274 guidelines
- Ideally will have a degree relating to the Science fields or Chemistry
- Strong written and IT skills and experience

The Role:
- Conducting routine sampling and analysis on Steam Boilers, Cooling Towers and Closed Systems
- Servicing of Water Softeners, CLO2 and Reverse Osmosis units
- Carrying out chemical dosing and chemical analysis
- Liaising with clients to arrange site access, as well as providing in-depth technical advice
- Writing detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations
- Upselling of company services to clients
- Working across a range of commercial, industrial and local authority client sites
- Training new members of site staff
- Producing competitive and thorough works quotations for clients
- Travelling as per company requirements
