Waste Transfer Station Manager
Ascot
50K per annum

My client is seeking an experienced Waste Transfer Station Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for the overall management of the team and the operations at the clients largest site in Ascot. You will be:

  • Responsible for safe and efficient running of waste management and recycling within the waste transfer station
  • Controlling production input and output, ensuring processes run smoothly and managing expectations (outputs include crushed concrete/brick, soil, etc)
  • Responsible for onsite Health & safety monitoring and ensuing compliance with legislation
  • Controlling budgets and attending meetings
  • Interacting with clients to assist with the resolution of customer concerns
  • Working to improve site layout and operations
  • Producing /reporting to Manager as required
  • Sampling/analysis of waste where required
  • Writing and implementing operational policies to provide continuous improvement
  • Managing and developing the team
  • Building strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business. Understand customer requirements and find suitable solutions to meet those needs
  • Providing support with any other ad hoc duties as required

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have current qualifications/knowledge in WAMITAB, IOSH, Machine Tickets, DVLC
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Have a strong commercial understanding of waste recycling
  • Have knowledge of relevant health and safety policies and procedures
  • Be self-motivated as well as a good motivator
  • Have confident and effective people management skills
  • Be open to and encourage change
  • Be proactive and constructive in problem solving and conflict management
  • Be approachable and professional
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess excellent organisational skills, meeting deadlines, plan and prioritise workloads
  • Be able to demonstrate understanding and works to exceed customer expectations
