Team Leader (media relationships) - c.£45k pa - Surbiton (SW London- 10 minutes by train from Clapham Junction)

The Team Leader (media relationaships) is responsible for leading the traditional media team who are responsible for the negotiation, purchasing and monitoring of advertising contracts across traditional media channels globally.

The role requires a strategic understanding of the recruitment advertising market and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure our clients value our recruitment media buying expertise and that the team maintains strong partnerships with media channels.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support a small team, fostering a collaborative culture
  • Oversee and guide the negotiation, purchase and monitoring of recruitment advertising contracts across traditional media channels/job boards
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including customer success, programmatic, revenue optimisation, sales and finance teams to integrate media buying strategies with broader business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners, ensuring effective communication and mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging media channels, and market conditions to support media buying strategies
  • Onboard new traditional media partners
  • Provide insights and recommendations to our clients and internal teams within the business
  • Represent the organisation at networking, partnership and publisher events
  • Able to navigate conversations, present ideas, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner
  • Take responsibility for the continuous improvement and development of team processes to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and high-quality output

Qualifications

  • Experience in traditional recruitment platforms or in a role that have involved negotiating and purchasing job board contracts
  • Experience of managing, mentoring, supporting and coaching others
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and support others in managing multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favourable terms and rates
