My client are recruiting an experienced Groundsperson to join their reputable school in the Surbiton area. You’ll be responsible for maintaining sports grounds, and the upkeep of the sports buildings and equipment.

The role requires flexibility in working hours due to sports events.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain sports pitches and playing fields.
  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Order equipment and supplies when required.
  • Keep pathways, and grounds clean, safe and tidy.
  • Basic maintenance and tree works, within health and safety regulations.
  • Support school events this may require some weekend working.
Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and have experience in a Groundsperson or similar role. They should have a proven ability to manage and service grounds and equipment, along with IT skills sufficient for job-related tasks, emails, and communication. Being self-motivated with a proactive and imaginative approach is essential, as is flexibility and a willingness to work with young people. Additionally, a solid understanding of Safeguarding and Health and Safety principles is required.
