SEN Teaching Assistant - KS2 - Primary School - Kingston Upon Thames (KT5)
Immediate or January 2025 Start- Long-term Role
£90 - £105 per day, term time only
Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and caring 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student in KS2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a thriving primary school in Kingston Upon Thames (KT5). You will work closely with the student, helping them to access the curriculum, develop vital social skills, and make significant progress in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 tailored support for a KS2 student with ASD, ensuring they remain engaged and focused in lessons
- Use effective strategies to promote the student's social, emotional, and academic development, fostering independence and confidence
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning plans and track progress
- Create a safe and encouraging environment that supports the student's well-being and growth
- Record and monitor progress, adjusting support strategies as needed and contributing to team discussions

Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience working with children with ASD or other SEN, ideally in a primary school setting
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working with young learners
- Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of effective strategies for supporting children with ASD and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students
