CNC Miller - Company Overview

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality, injection moulding products is currently looking for a CNC Miller to join their team on a full-time basis. They serve a diverse range of industries including: Automotive, Aerospace, and FMCG.

CNC Miller - Roles & Responsibilities

  • Programme and operate Hurco CNC milling machines
  • Set up workpieces, cutters, and tools to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Manufacture new tooling according to engineering drawings, adhering to project timing plans and ensuring that all work meets tight tolerances.
  • Perform self-inspection of work to ensure accuracy and quality before removing from the machine.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and adhere to maintenance procedures to ensure machine efficiency.
  • Work closely with toolmakers, CAD/CAM programmers, and designers to identify root causes of issues and provide feedback for design improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workspace, following 5S principles, and comply with all health and safety standards.

CNC Miller - Skills & Experience

  • Completed apprenticeship in toolmaking.
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Toolmaking, Tool and Die Maintenance).
  • Time-served CNC Miller with experience in setting, operating, and programming.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, work to tight tolerances and check your own work.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience with Hurco and Heidenhain systems, plastic injection mould tools.
  • Experience with manual milling, EDM and Wire machining.
  • IOSH certification.
  • Six Sigma and 5S training.
  • 5S workplace organisation training.
