Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm. The hours are worked mainly in the home as part of the staff team. There is an expectation that if there is an incident / need for you to stay you can be flexible in this.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supervision and manage a staff team effectively.

  • Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home.

  • Communicate effectively with both staff and young people.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of care plans.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members.

  • Participate in on-call duties and sleep-in shifts as required.

  • Maintain accurate records and report writing as necessary.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 in Residential Children's Care.

  • Proven experience in a senior role within children's services.

  • Experience in care work with children and young people, particularly in EBD and challenging behaviour.

  • Strong leadership and shift leading skills.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage and support a diverse team.

  • Competence in report writing and documentation.
