Are you an experienced conveyancing paralegal seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced, dynamic environment?

Our client, a reputable law firm in West Midlands with over 10 years of providing professional, high-quality service, is looking to expand its conveyancing team.

About the Role:

You will join a collaborative and friendly team, working closely with an experienced paralegal to manage the initial stages of conveyancing transactions. The conveyancing team is divided into specific departments, ensuring a streamlined and efficient process:

  • New Business
  • File Opening
  • Sales Files Handling
  • Purchase Files Handling

The senior partner oversees all files, and you'll be supported by an administrative assistant.

In this role, you will be responsible for opening files after receiving instructions from clients and ensuring a smooth process as transactions progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Communication: Handle calls, provide updates, and complete follow-up tasks
  • Sales File Management: Draft contract packs, complete ID checks, order redemption figures, apply for management packs (if needed), and ensure all required paperwork is completed and signed
  • Purchase File Management: Request contract papers, conduct ID and funding checks, ensure payment on account, and handle paperwork
  • Exchange and Completion Preparation: Assist in setting up files, liaising with relevant parties, and ensuring all documents are ready for exchange
  • Task Management: Diarise and manage tasks, follow up on outstanding work, and ensure timely progression to completion

Ideal Candidate:

  • Conveyancing Experience: You’ll bring hands-on experience in the conveyancing process
  • Team Player: Comfortable working within a collaborative, open-plan office where responsibilities are shared
  • Detail-Oriented: Able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Client-Focused: Professional in communication and committed to providing excellent service to clients
