Role Purpose:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational management and leadership of all Airwork disciplines (ASG, Sat & Links, Rigging) for the Midlands region.
  • Lead a culture of safe working practices across the Airworks disciplines.
  • SME for regional Airworks tasks/knowledge and support Team Managers in other areas within Operations.
  • Management of Airworks field coordination tasks and responsibilities.
  • Provide regular communications and facilitate on the job coaching and training for Airworks.
  • Lead Midlands region for Airworks planned maintenance and corrective maintenance activities and process improvements.
  • Assess and lead on multi-skill set development and skill principles across the regional Airworks field teams.
  • Act as buddy/deputy for Operations Manager (Airworks) and peer group.
  • Identify and implement areas of cost and performance improvement to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of operating performance, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Drive and deliver team engagement.
  • Manage the local budget, assisting with accurate budgeting for capital and operational expenditure, tracking budget variances and maximising recovery benefit for Arqiva.

Required Expertise:

  • Comprehensive background knowledge and experience of technologies such as RF, power and environment, analogue and digital principles, electronics, and ICT.
  • Networking Experience in the creation and delivery of operational plans, including setting KPIs and managing performance against plans.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SHE legislation & CDM requirements policies, and procedures relevant to and drive execution and compliance of SHE practices and standards.
  • Significant experience of managing budgets and functional resources effectively to deliver plans and service levels within budget and timescales.
  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and the project management lifecycle; actively contributes to or leads engineering project.
  • Leadership on site for delivery of the larger projects, this will require at times extended periods of working away from home within your region or other areas in the UK.
  • Extensive operational experience of field broadcast equipment/tasks (Airworks)

Required Technical / Professional Skillset(s):

  • Be an integral part of the Operations Airworks Management Team.
  • Climbing and tower rescue certification.
