Role Overview

In this role, you will lead the team at steering both staff. Your primary mission is to engage the local community, foster support, and increase stock donations to ensure the store operates efficiently and contributes positively to the clients financial goals. You will also be responsible for enhancing online sales processes to ensure growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement: Represent and embed the store within the local community, encouraging stock donations for both the physical and online store.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of empowered volunteers, maximizing their contributions and recognizing their individual skills.
  • Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service both in-store and online, managing complaints effectively and promoting a positive reputation.
  • Store Operations: Adhere to all policies and procedures, manage stock levels, ensure quality sorting, pricing, and merchandising to boost sales, and drive performance to meet financial targets.
  • Online Sales: Oversee online processes to ensure profitability and growth, maintaining efficient operations and enhancing customer experience.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, complete annual risk assessments, and manage data protection responsibilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Qualifications: Good education in English and Maths
  • Experience: Previous retail or charity retail management or supervisory experience
  • Skills: Proven customer service skills, flexibility, physical ability to handle stock, and proficiency in IT and numeracy (Office365/SharePoint is a plus)
  • Desirable: Local community knowledge, experience in e-commerce operations, especially in charity retail
