Job Opportunity: Purchasing Specialist for a Leading Civil Engineering Firm

Our client is aleading civil engineering companywith a proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking aPurchasing Specialistto join their dynamic team and play a pivotal role in managing their procurement and inventory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full procurement cycle, including sourcing, purchasing and negotiating with suppliers.
• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring materials are available for projects on time and within budget.
• Develop and implement inventory management strategies to minimise waste and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with project managers, suppliers and internal teams to align purchasing with project schedules.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Analyse purchasing data to identify trends, forecast demand and improve stock management processes.

What Were Looking For:

• Proven experience(minimum 3 years) in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in the civil engineering or construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, stock control processes, and purchasing best practices.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to support project delivery.
