TeacherActive is seeking to appoint a DT / Design Technology Teacher for successful and supportive schools in the North Nottinghamshire area.
About the Role
We are looking for a candidate to work under the reasonable direction of the Assistant Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team and carry out the duties of a Design & Technology/Creative Instructor.
You would be responsible for the learning and the achievement of Construction students in a variety of ways, including:
• Planning and preparing schemes of work and lesson plans
• Creating a purposeful learning environment
• Teaching, according to individual educational needs, the pupils assigned to you
• Know how to make effective personalised provision/effectively provide differentiated tasks for those you teach
• Know how to use skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT to support your teaching and wider professional activities
• Use assessment as part of your teaching to diagnose learners’ needs, set realistic and challenging targets for improvement, and plan future teaching.
The School caters for pupils aged 11-18 and is growing to 85 pupils across two sites. You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status / QTS or relevant DT / Design Technology teaching experience
- An innovative and creative approach to teaching
- The ability to manage the class and deal with challenging behaviour
