We have a very strong product offering and need someone on the road visiting customer production and manufacturing sites to showcase what we offer and how it can improve productivity and health and safety, as well as saving time and money. Experience of engineering and exposure to hygienic production sites would be helpful, but full training will be provided.

Each week will vary, but as a guideline your time will be split 70% on the road and 30% in the office.

Main responsibilities

  • Focus all efforts on generating the required level of sales revenue, following processes diligently and reviewing progress regularly with line manager.
  • Take a strategic approach to identifying target customers, carrying out thorough research, meticulously planning and preparing for every phone call, email and site visit.
  • Ensure all site visits are exploited for maximum benefit, ie meet the right people, walk the plant, record all useful information and continually seek opportunities to use the company's Make it better approach.
  • Follow up all enquiries and quotations promptly. Review and update our CRM system regularly and take any action required.
  • Actively promote the organisation's products and services on social media; attend exhibitions.
  • Follow all appropriate H&S systems for site visits, including the use of appropriate PPE.

Key skills/qualities

  • Commercially astute, tenacious, proactive.
  • Can devise technical solutions and clearly explain these to a customer.
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales.
  • Customer focussed, with the ability to listen well.
  • Intelligent - understands how to use a value proposition to full effect to win the sale.
  • Well-turned out, likeable and honest.
  • Strategic thinker, analytical.
  • Meticulous planner.
  • Confident, resilient.
  • Holds a current, valid, full licence permitting driving in the UK (no more than 3 penalty points).
  • Familiar with taking technical measurements of processing equipment - desirable.
  • Technical knowledge of equipment and processes used in powder processing sectors - desirable.

Hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday (travel outside of these times and overnight stays away from home will be required).
24 days' holiday plus public holidays.
Discretionary bonus scheme.
