Location: Mansfield

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am rotation
About the Client
ATA Recruitment is supporting a leading global manufacturer supplying to major FMCG markets, including Unilever. With eight sites in the UK and a turnover exceeding £4 billion, the client is experiencing significant growth, having acquired the Mansfield site 18 months ago and introduced new machinery to increase production capacity. As part of their expansion, they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join their high-performing team
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of various machinery and equipment within the site. Your main tasks will include:
- Preventative Maintenance: Conducting planned maintenance to maximise uptime.
- Breakdown Response: Rapidly diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults to minimise disruption.
- Project & Installation Work: Supporting new machinery installations and site improvement projects.
- Continuous Improvement & Root Cause Analysis: Driving efficiency through fault-finding and process improvements.
- Electrical Work: Working with inverters, relays, contactors, switches, sensors, drives, and motors.
- Mechanical Work: Handling shafts, bearings, chains, belts, pulleys, valves, and seals.
- PLC Responsibilities: Fault-finding on PLC-controlled machinery.
What the Client is Looking For
To succeed in this role, you must be able to work independently on night shifts and confidently handle both electrical and mechanical responsibilities. Key requirements include:
- Multi-skilled engineer (Electrical bias preferred; mechanical qualifications considered).
- NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent.
- Experience in a factory, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
- Strong electrical competency, including the ability to use multi-meters and follow lock-off/tag-off procedures.
- Proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes and develop professionally.
