Mental Health Staff Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Mental Health Services. This role involves providing 1-to-1 care to Mental Health patients when required.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • To provide a defined level of assessment and access to interventions for a diverse patient group and their families under the care programme approach, who present with significant mental health problems/disorders.
  • To provide a realistic timely and occasionally intensive support to patients within an Inpatient setting.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and relevant clinical records, both written and computerised, ensuring the safe custody of healthcare records.
  • Apply principles of infection prevention and control, complying with relevant policies, procedures, and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Maintain safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults in line with Trust policy and local authority procedures, including making timely safeguarding referrals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health/Learning Disability) with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Proven skills in assessing patient needs, analysing, and developing treatment plans within a multidisciplinary framework.
  • Experience in managing medication and understanding of legal frameworks relevant to mental health care.
