Job Title: Cardiac Physiologist
Location: Nottingham
Job Type: Weekdays, between 8am and 6pm, for a period of approximately 3 months.
Job Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Clinical Physiologist to join our friendly cardiovascular team. Our service provision covers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. You will work as an independent practitioner within a multidisciplinary department, contributing to a comprehensive range of investigative procedures. This specialised cardiac post requires a sound skills base, which will be rewarded with opportunities for further personal development and exposure to a wide range of investigations.
Main Duties of the Job:
- Perform a variety of invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.
- Work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the comprehensive range of investigative procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Provide high-quality patient care and support.
Person Specification:
Experience and Qualifications:
- BHRS or IBHRE qualification
- Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
- Must have experience of all form of implants (PPM, ICD, BiV)
- Must be able to work autonomously undertaking Cath Lab PCI
- Previous experience of having run pacing clinics (Desirable)
Knowledge Requirements:
- Highly specialised expert knowledge and experience across a range of cardiology areas.
- Lead specialist in one area of diagnostics and procedures, demonstrating highly specialised technical knowledge and first-line management in this area.
- Extensive practical experience in cardiology at an independent practice level, including investigation, interpretation, reporting, altering therapy, and recommending alternative investigations.
- Ability to identify when emergency medical intervention is required and take appropriate action.
- Evidence of professional awareness, CPD, and up-to-date knowledge through structured study, reflective practice, and peer review.
- Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner holding their own caseload.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cope with decision-making under pressure, leadership, meet deadlines, and delegate effectively.
- IT skills.
