We are seeking a dedicatedSpecialist Teaching and Learning Assistantto join our team at a fantasticSEN Specialist Provisionlocated in utton-in-Ashfield.As a SpecialistTeaching and Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students.

We are looking for a strong candidate to work 1-1 with a KS5 pupil with Autism, ADHD and associated challenging behaviours.

Please note, this role is working 08:30-15:30 Monday to Friday and we can not offer this part-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support outside of the classroom to build up the pupils confidence to reintegrate back into the classroom.
  • Providing academic, behaviour and pastoral support to secondary aged pupils with varying SEN, SEMH and Behavioural challenges.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs) under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.
  • Support students in developing coping strategies and social skills to manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.
  • Help create a safe and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and understood.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, behavioural challenges and PEX students. Applicants from a Care/Youth Support Worker background also welcome!
  • Familiarity with special education practices and strategies
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse groups of people
  • Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus
  • A passion for educating and empowering young learners
