PurposeThe primary responsibility of this role is to answer phone calls and take penalty notice payments for school absences. Additional tasks may be assigned depending on call volume, but handling phone inquiries is the main priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work to defined business standards and processes while performing a wide range of business support tasks with attention to confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Create, manage, and manipulate information related to finance, staffing, customers, or other service requirements, including producing bespoke and complex reports.
  • Undertake financial support processes, including processing penalty notices for school absences.
  • Perform reception duties, greet visitors, provide directions, and offer advice and guidance on basic inquiries.

  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of information within the scope of the role.
  • Adhere to correct processes and alert the appropriate manager to ensure compliance.
  • Work efficiently and effectively to support operational services.
  • Perform any other duties appropriate for the role as required.

Person SpecificationEducation and Knowledge

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.

Experience

  • Demonstrated phone etiquette and experience answering calls.
  • Experience in data input and management, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in using IT and common business support packages, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience in note and minute-taking.
  • Ability to provide information to the public or customers using excellent communication skills.
