Financial Accountant

Hourly rate: £26.00- £28.00 Per hour PAYE or £34.00- £36.00 per hour via an umbrella company.
Length of assignment: 6-9 months.
Location: Sutton (close to the train station) - Hybrid working 2-3 days in the office and the rest form home.
Job Type: Full-time, 36 hours per week- 08.45- 16.30

Are you a dynamic and experienced Financial Accountant looking for an exciting opportunity to shape finance policies and drive financial strategy? We are in a pivotal phase of development and need someone who can start immediately or on short notice.

About the Role: As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in financial management and strategy, ensuring effective internal controls and compliance with external reporting requirements. You will oversee cash flow reporting and treasury management, support key decision-making processes, report on financial risks, and contribute to the implementation of a new finance system. Collaboration with the Finance Senior Leadership Team, Finance Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders will be essential to enhance financial practices and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the development of cash flow reporting and treasury management.
Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with external reporting requirements, VAT, and statutory accounts preparation.
Support key decision-making processes, report on financial risks, and contribute to the implementation of a new finance system.
Work closely with the Finance Senior Leadership Team, Finance Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders to enhance financial practices and outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Proven financial accounting experience, preferably in the education sector or accounting practice.
Strong exposure to VAT returns.
Proficient in using different accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organisational, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of current educational issues is desirable.
