We are looking for a skilled and experienced multi-skilled Repair Operative to join our team in Sutton. The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out responsive repairs in tenanted and communal properties. This includes diagnosing and repairing various aspects of the trade, such as doors, windows, kitchen units, floors, staircases. The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and theability to work both independently and as a part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out responsive repairs in tenanted and communal properties.

  • Gain entry for tenants locked out and ensure minimal disruption.

  • Overhaul and repair doors and windows to ensure security and functionality.

  • Repair and maintain kitchen units, floors, staircases, skirting, and architrave.

  • Diagnose and resolve repair issues efficiently and effectively.

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials used, and service reports.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors.

  • Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices in repair and maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a repair or maintenance role, preferably in a housing environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of repair techniques, tools, and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good physical condition and ability to perform manual labor tasks.

  • Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.

  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in a technical or trade discipline (preferred).
