Accounts Payable (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)
We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join our client's team as a member of their Finance department. Our client, a global distribution partner and formulator of speciality chemicals and ingredients, is committed to providing expert solutions and adding sustainable value to the supply chain.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier's invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and resolving any invoice queries. You will also be responsible for setting up new suppliers, verifying bank details, and managing payment runs to both external and internal suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process supplier's invoices by matching them to purchase orders
- Handle overhead invoices
- File paperless invoicing documents
- Set up new supplier accounts
- Resolve supplier invoice queries through effective communication via telephone and email
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Check transport costs by collaborating with internal staff
- Verify bank details
- Conduct payment runs to external and internal suppliers
- Provide cover for other team members in their absence
- Undertake any other adhoc tasks as required
To excel in this role, you should have previous experience working in an Accounts Payable function. Strong communication skills are crucial as you will be interacting with both internal staff and suppliers on a regular basis. Knowledge of JD Edwards and Excel would be highly desirable, demonstrating your ability to work efficiently and effectively with financial software.
Our ideal candidate will be highly organised, possess excellent time management skills, and work well both independently and as part of a team. Strong numerical and analytical abilities, coupled with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, are essential for success in this role.
This 12-Month Fixed Term Contract position is based in Sutton, Surrey. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Our client offers a competitive salary.
