Location: [Third-Party Employer]Salary:£33,417 - £38,058 (the higher salary dependant on your experience) Hours: Full-time, 36 hours/week, 52 weeks/year (includes early morning, evening, and weekend shifts on rotation)Start Date: March 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop school facilities to meet statutory, educational, and operational needs.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for staff, students, and visitors.
  • Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, including record-keeping and routine inspections.
  • Manage repairs, maintenance schedules, and emergency response for building issues.
  • Lead and manage the premises team, conducting appraisals and training as needed.
  • Oversee contractors, ensuring work is completed to agreed specifications and within budget.
  • Act as Health & Safety Officer, Fire Officer, and First Aid lead.
  • Manage security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Develop a 5-year maintenance plan and ensure cost-effective service procurement.
  • Maximise income from premises lettings while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Person Specification:Essential:

  • Relevant experience in managing contracts/services in a similar environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience supervising staff and liaising with external contractors.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and compliance requirements.
  • IT proficiency for managing records and reports.

Desirable:

  • Facilities Management/Building Services/Contract Management qualification (or equivalent NVQ Level 4).
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification.
  • Budget management experience.
  • D1 driving licence.
