Head of Financial Accounting
- Annual Salary: £52,582 - £58,962 (Temporary rates: £28.09- £31.50 Per hour PAYE or £35.31- £39.68 per hour via an umbrella company).
- Location: Sutton (close to the train station)- Hybrid working 2-3 days in the office and the rest form home.
- Job Type: Full-time, 36 hours per week- 08.45- 16.30
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Financial Accounting to join our team during an exciting phase of development. This pivotal role involves shaping finance policies, embedding processes across the organisation, and playing a key role in financial management and strategy. We are looking for an immediate starter or someone on short notice. Due to the nature of this client you will be required to undertake some safe guarding and also required to have an enhanced DBS taken on your behalf.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Line manage the purchasing and expenses teams, overseeing the development of cash flow reporting and treasury management.
- Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with external reporting requirements, VAT, and statutory accounts preparation.
- Support key decision-making processes, report on financial risks, and contribute to the implementation of a new finance system.
- Work closely with the Finance Senior Leadership Team, Finance Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders to enhance financial practices and outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven financial accounting experience, preferably in the education sector or accounting practice.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- Proficient in using different accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organisational, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of current educational issues is desirable.
