About the Organisation:This further education college is committed to providing inclusive, high-quality education that empowers learners to achieve their full potential. The Learner Support Services team is dedicated to ensuring every student receives the support necessary to succeed.

Role Overview:The college is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Manager to oversee the Additional Learning Support (ALS) provision. This important role involves managing support services to ensure a high-quality, efficient, and legally compliant learning environment that enables student success. The post holder will lead a team of Learning Support Assistants and work collaboratively with staff to implement effective support strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of Additional Learning Support across the college.
  • Oversee the deployment of resources and staffing to meet learners' support needs.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with ESFA funding and Ofsted requirements.
  • Conduct audits and observations of support services to ensure quality.
  • Lead the recruitment, induction, and performance management of Learning Support Assistants, including BSL signers.
  • Liaise with curriculum teams to advise on support strategies and resources.
  • Collaborate with the exams team to implement access arrangements.
  • Monitor and analyse data to enhance the effectiveness of support provision.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience managing additional learning support in a post-16 educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of current curriculum developments and ALS funding.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and ICT skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity.

Desirable:

  • Level 7 Postgraduate Award of Proficiency in Assessment for Access Arrangements (or equivalent).
