Engage Education are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join a specialist SEN team in Sutton that work with students with SEMH, ASD and challenging behaviour. The aim is to provide an environment where pupils can grow and develop socially, emotionally and academically.

As a higher-level teaching assistant, you will work predominantly as expert support whilst also providing a range of cover and teaching across the schools services. You will need to have a strong understanding of SEN, SEMH and child development.

Job Description:

  • Planned coverage of a class in place of their usual teacher or group coordinator
  • Planned coverage of support or provide additional Support to help regulate pupils who require one-to-one support
  • Lead 1:1 and group sessions for specific needs

  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to work in a child focused way
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to recognise and understand young people’s needs
  • Good organisational skills, ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to develop constructive and appropriate relationships with pupils
