What will you do?

Reporting to the Major Works Programme Manager, you will work with a team responsible for providing a Quality Assurance/Clerk of Works service in connection with Sutton Housing Partnerships programme of capital and cyclical works.

  • Provide a Quality Assurance/Clerk of Work service across the full range of work undertaken by Sutton Housing Partnerships.
  • Agree joint quality control procedures with the constructor/contractor in accordance with Sutton Housing Partnerships requirements and audit such procedures and records to ensure that quality control inspections are effective and efficient.
  • Maintain a critical but constructive relationship with the contractor's supervisory staff.
  • Examine specifications and drawings and ensure that any aspects which are not satisfactory are rectified.
  • Carry out site visits at least weekly, to all sites to ensure that materials, construction standards and site practices meet Sutton Housing Partnerships requirements, and prepare a Health and Safety report.
  • Inspect finished work.
  • Prepare specification.

What do you need?

To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:

  • UK Resident
  • Experience working in housing for a local authority or other social housing provider is essential.
  • Recognised construction - related qualification to at least HNC or HND level with a demonstrable record of accomplishment as a Clerk of Works or Surveyor on large and moderately complex projects.
  • Experience in managing the quality of large-scale capital expenditure projects on residential buildings.
