As a Service Manager within the Children with Disabilities Team, you will oversee support for children and young people with complex needs, including physical and developmental disabilities. Your role involves leading the team to assess needs, develop care plans, and ensure access to services that enhance independence and well-being. You'll work closely with families and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes while ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, including safeguarding responsibilities under the Children Act 1989.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014, focusing on understanding the needs, risks, and strengths of children with disabilities.
  • Collaborating with families, health professionals, and education providers to gather comprehensive, holistic information.
  • Overseeing a caseload of children with diverse disabilities, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed and adapted to meet their evolving needs.
  • Identifying and addressing safeguarding concerns to protect children from harm, abuse, or neglect.
  • Advocating for children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in all decisions affecting their care and support.
