Adult Social Worker- Court Team- Sutton

As a Social Worker in the Adults Court Team, you will work with vulnerable adults involved in legal proceedings. You will be responsible for preparing detailed court reports, attending court hearings, and working with other professionals to ensure that adults in need of care and protection receive the appropriate support and safeguarding. You will provide assessments and recommendations that protect individual's rights and well-being within the legal framework.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake thorough initial assessments of individuals and families referred to the council, identifying immediate needs and risks
  • Manage cases that require legal intervention under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014, or other relevant legislation. This includes preparing court reports, attending hearings, and providing evidence to protect vulnerable adults
  • Handle urgent and complex cases with sensitivity and efficiency, providing crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Conduct thorough assessments and produce high-quality, detailed court reports, including Section 7 and Section 47 reports, care plans, and statements, ensuring all information is accurate
  • Draft and submit legal documents for court proceedings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory guidelines and deadlines

Requirements

  • Relevant social work qualification
  • 2 experience in adult social work, including assessment and care planning.
