We are looking for a fully qualified SEN Teacher to cover Post 16. Our school supports young adults with complex and severe learning difficulties, through a variety of different methods such as supporting their sensory development, both verbal and non-verbal communication and learning skills for life. However, we will also consider candidates that have some of the following:

QTS is preferred.
Teaching experience in a complex SEN school.
Experience supporting children with Special Needs.
Child Care Experience – Through personal or professional experience.
Special needs experience – Experience through family, friends or professional environments.
Great interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine, caring attitude.
An energetic attitude where you want to get involved wherever possible.
Flexibility with required working patterns.
A willingness to learn and have a genuine enthusiasm to make a difference.

Your Main Duties:

Offer support for the school’s students before, during and after their lessons.
Aiding students with their understanding and participation in tasks.
Help promote each student’s love of learning.
Actively taking part in team meetings.
Always follow the regulations pertaining to safeguarding.
When required, support individual’s needs, including assisting with a wide range of medical and occasionally, personal care tasks and physical support where needed (Training will be provided in giving medical care and support).
Working either on a 1:1 or group basis to support learning.
Inspiring and engaging with children with a wide range of additional learning needs.
Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils, which may include feeding, changing and manual handling (TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL).
