Sellick Partnership are exclusively recruiting an Exchequer Manager for a council based in the East Midlands.

Job summary: Exchequer Manager

  • To provide support and advice for a number of the Council's responsibilities and in particular to act as the Council's key advisor on the Financial Management System, Transactional Banking, Debtors, Cash Income, Creditors and Insurance matters.
  • To analyse and report on key financial data within the organisation ensuring that managers receive timely, accurate and relevant information.

Key responsibilities: Exchequer Manager

  • Manage, develop and motivate staff
  • Supervise and support the Accounting Technician
  • Supervise and support Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Cash Income functions
  • Preparation of the Councils annual insurance renewal
  • Preparation of the Councils budget for Insurance
  • Maintenance, governance and development of the financial management system
  • Insurance management for the Council
  • Review and approve allocated monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Take the lead in ensuring that all Balance Sheet Reconciliations are complete on a monthly basis
  • Complete statutory claim forms and statistical returns

Person specification: Exchequer Manager

  • Qualified AAT or equivalent
  • Experience of managing a transactional team
