We are urgently seeking an experienced, funeral professional to work as a Funeral Arranger on a part-time basis for our established and well respected client, based at their premises in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

You will be joining a well-established Funeral Business working as part of the local team, providing a professional service whilst achieving excellence in funeral arrangements. You will arrange funerals for the designated office, and possibly assisting other neighbouring sites.

Funeral Arranger Requirements:

  • Have a professional appearance dressed in company uniform provided.
  • Reflect the professional image of the society by following the policies and procedures as set out in the society hand book and funeral department work book.
  • Demonstrate empathy, compassion and caring approach to clients.
  • Demonstrate the attitude needed to do a great job; positive, proactive, team-spirited, dynamic and open to learning, innovative.
  • Follow client confidentiality and current GDPR guidelines.
  • Hold a detailed understanding of the bereavement registration process.
  • Have a confident knowledge of products and services the funeral department can provide.
  • Be capable of using the funeral management system including, data input, posting payments, raising invoices, and data search.
  • Professionally liaise with 3rd party agencies to produce a funeral to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for payments made by clients. This includes cash, Cheque and card payments.
  • Community support and promotion.
  • A confident understanding of prepaid funeral products including 3rd part products.
  • Support visitors with practical and emotional support during branch visits.

Funeral Arrangers additional duties

Some Funeral Arrangers may be responsible for satellite funeral homes. This will involve either lone working or as part of a small team. In these situations, Funeral Arrangers would also be expected to maintain a clean and tidy branch.

  • Branch housekeeping.
  • Key holding responsibilities.
  • Petty cash.
  • Community support and promotion.
  • Any other duties to support the continuity of the funeral office
