Purchasing Administrator Required in Burton Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Burton on Trent Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience) SF Recruitment are working with a long-standing key client in Burton who are requiring an experienced Administrator to assist their purchasing team. You will help manage purchased parts for both production and aftermarket needs. This role will be essential in maintaining smooth operations, ensuring timely delivery, and implementing cost-saving measures. In addition, you will be responsible for placing purchase orders, managing and maintaining purchase orders, effecting cost reductions, managing quality issues, and reducing excess inventory. Key Responsibilities:

  • Input Purchase Orders and manage orders in MRP system.
  • Review purchase request for material via MRP or manual purchase requisition.
  • Monitor purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules.
  • When applicable, expedite critical components and overdue purchase orders.
  • Work with assigned supplier planning and organise all tasks.
  • Resolve supplier problems associated with over shipments, invoicing issues, obsolete, rework and scrap material.
  • Participate in supplier quality activities such as corrective action completion.
  • May coordinate and negotiate prices for assigned suppliers with the expectations of providing purchasing price reductions and establishing purchase pricing.
  • Manage Purchase price variance monthly.
  • Review, analyse and interpret various reports.
  • Develop and improve best purchasing practices.
  • Achieve cost reduction initiatives.
  • Achieve inventory management initiatives.
  • Continuously maintain and ensure correct data in MRP

Skills required:

  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation and verbal & written communication.
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationship with both internal and external customers as well as suppliers
  • Solid skills in Microsoft package (outlook, Word, excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
