Eaton Syalon has been exclusively engaged by a global business based in Swadlincote to recruit a Purchase Ledger Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with a strong work ethic who is eager to develop their career in a supportive and dynamic environment. The role offers fantastic career growth potential, along with support for AAT study.

As Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will be responsible for managing a variety of finance tasks, with a strong focus on purchase ledger processing but plenty of exposure to wider accounting tasks. You’ll ensure the supplier ledger is accurate and up to date, while also handling cashbook and a small amount of sales ledger work. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a well-rounded finance role with plenty of development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase ledger processing, ensuring timely and accurate entry of supplier invoices.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs for review by the Management Accountant
  • Reconcile the Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) accounts.
  • Post journals and support with month-end close.
  • Regularly review supplier ledgers to ensure accuracy and resolve any escalated discrepancies.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage cashbook transactions.
  • Sales ledger processing, credit control as required.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial and administrative support to the finance team.

We would love to attract an ambitious Purchase Ledger Clerk or Accounts Assistant with a strong work ethic, keen to develop in a supportive business environment. You will need experience of purchase ledger within a medium/large business environment, supplier reconciliations, and general finance tasks. By nature you will be well organised with great attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Your communication skills are spot on and you have the ability to build relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
